Shredded Colby and Monterey Jack Cheese is a great combination. this cheese is like you buy in the store but is made with goat’s milk and is made here in our plant and aged in our cheese cave. This melts easily and is great in Macaroni and Cheese, in Chili or other soups, on eggs, grilled cheese and salads. You will love the taste of these two cheeses shredded. Goats milk produces cheese with a strong flavors and aromas that may vary for several reasons. The breed of the goats, their diet, regional influences such as climate, altitude another environmental factors. How clean the facility is and how quickly the milk is cooled are to other factors that make a difference in taste. These are some of the reasons that goat cheese tastes different from different companies. At Maple Leaf Farm & Creamery we raise a herd of Nubian goats that produce the milk for our cheese. We picked them because of the sweet flavor of their milk and the higher butterfat. We control their diet and the hay they eat is grown here on our farm and we harvest it.
